When we got out of meeting we had some time to kill before we had to head back to the airport and I remember that my good friend (and former ModemMedia co-worker) John McHale lives in Atlanta. I called him and found out that he his work was just a few blocks away from where we were calling from. He hopped in his car and five short minutes later, Johnny was on the spot.

Sunday night I went to Sid n' Buddy karaoke at Piano's. Here's Candy and Sarah.

I love stupid photo projects. This one's called "Smoosh Your Face."

I'm so down with O.P.P. (Other Peoples' Pets). If you're out walking your dog and I see you - chances are, you're getting stopped and like it or not, I'm going to spend some time loving your pooch. Here's a picture of me with what had to be the raddest, happiest, silkiest pit bull puppy I've ever had the privilege of accosting on the street.
me
For whatever reason, I only took one photo all day on Saturday; of Fatty and I going sunglasses shopping after our brunch. Dig my new look?
me
Me and Sarah (who would be getting married soon if I was just a little more Jewish).

But with the size of the scotch the lead-handed bartendress poured me, it was more like quadrupling up. Jesus.

Later on that night, Vin and I went to Lit where we ran into Candy...

Check out the sauce stains on his shirt. Awesome.

And concentrated on not puking all over the platform while I waited for the train. Oooof.
me
Shortly after that, it was closing time. I bade farewell to Crazy and Sammy...
me
With everyone else gone, it was time to play some Big Buck Hunter II! Wooooo!
me
From L to R: Shane the birthday boy, Crazy (yes, his name is Crazy), Sammy and me. After hanging out at this place for a while, Shane, who was tired from moving all day, called it a night.
me
Right before dinner, I'd gotten a surprise call from my friend Sammy (who I hadn't seen in almost four years!).

Sammy had just helped his friend Shane move into a new apartment in Hoboken and wanted me to come out there to meet them as they celebrated Shane's birthday. I walked 10 blocks, hopped on the PATH at Christopher Street and headed towards Jersey. Twenty minutes later we were reunited!
me
Let's hear it for aggro cover metal! ARGHGHGH Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! WE'RE SO ANGRRRRRRRYYYYYYYYYY!
me
This was the best part, I was standing really close to him with my nuts out and all of sudden he woke up. He seemed started to find me standing so close to him and and was like "What's up?" So I said to him enthusiastically, "Nothing, dude! You're rocking the fuck out, that's what! Let's take a picture together!" He jumped up and with like "Ok!" So that's how I turned an "Almost Got My Ass Kicked" situtation into the greatest "You Don't Know You're Posing With My Balls But You Are" picture of all time.
me
Jamie and I were quick to follow. Mad props to Jamie - homeboy survived testicular cancer was brave enough (or drunk enough - probably a bit of both) to take out his one ball! (Stop looking! You can't tell).
me
Look at me trying to subtley get Emily to show more boob. Goddamn, I'm smooth.
me
...back to me where I used it to punch Chitty Chitty Bang Choi in her Chitty Chitty Bang chin. Feel my hulk ANGER!
me
Here's Jamie singing "Bohemian Rhapsody" - and somewhere in the middle of the song, someone just handed me the most memorable children's toy in recent years...The Giant Hulk Fist.
me
...back to me (where I discovered that if you punch something, the Hulk fist emits a loud, electronic "Angry Hulk Scream")...
me
Sid and Buddy....and my ass.Hahahaha. Grant wins for braining Matt (ps - what's with your lumpy nuts, dude? You should probably get that looked at.)
me
See, here's me all like "Hi, I'm here with your butt."
me
Eighteen and life, YOU'VE got it.
me
Yay! Amanda Berkowitz stopped by (with a friend of hers whose name I don't remember, sorry) but I think we were all pretty rowdy at this point and we scared her off. (By the way, what's with me smoking?)
me
Here's us kicking off the night right with a duet of Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart"
me
Emily and me in the backseat.

And here's my dinner - both plates of it. No, I'm totally not fucking kidding. These two plates represent one meal. What happened was when the waiter was taking our order I asked, "If I'm really hungry, what should I get?" Before I even fishished asking he replied, "Really hungry, eh? Then you're going to want to be having...(dramatic pause)...THE CONQUISTIDOR." Me: "Mmmmm, that sounds good. I"ll have that."
me
Just me and tha Grizza.
me
By the time we got out there and took a quick swim, the sun was already beginning to set.
me
Grant, Fatty, Colin (Big Daddy) and me.
me
Holy Cuh-rap.
me
What's better than this photo? Everytime I was about to nod off, Tara would lean in all close to my ear and and make really quiet "dragon noises."
me
And then, well, shit you knew it was coming. Lucky for me the drawstring on his shorts is almost completely obscuring his bitsy ballsack.
me
While we slept, Grant apparently decided to get all artsy with them cam. Artsy Photo #1
me
Right after we got there, Tara and conked the fuck out. Nappity nap time for Tiny-T and Big-B.
me
Shorty after we were done eating, Sarah made the mistake of leaving her camera unattended. As soon as she wasn't looking, Grant and I hijacked her camera and snuck into her bedroom to take some pics for her to find the next day. Here's me trying on her coconut bikini top.
me
...and here's my bringing it home to mommie. Check out Tiffany's face...sooooo funny.

me
I have no idea why I'm pulling that face - maybe I was singing?
me
Frank, me, and Grant.
me
Now, most of you probably don't know this about me, but I have a pinhead. No, really. I do. And I guess it doesn't look tiny because when I tell people about it, they never believe me - or at least they don't until I take someone's normal-sized hat and put it on and SHAZAM! Pinhead! Check out Matt cackling at my tiny head swimming in Grant's hat.
me
Yep, and this one too. (Although, now that I think about it, I think we all might have been singing the four-part back up bit to Aerosmith's "Love In An Elevator" in these last two.)
me
Wah-wah. (INSERT TUBA NOISE HERE) Thumbs down!
me
Me and Irene.
me
After that, Grant went home and Tara and I went to the Hole to people watch.
me
Nerve hosted the NYC premiere for "My Life Without Me." Afterwards, we all went to Piano's for a little afterparty. Here's me with Sarah Polley.
me
Me and winky Zara.
me
Awwwwww yeah, Roxbury High School in the ha-higgity, boyeeeee.
me
...and his friend Johann (who you might recognize from the Bizarro Me entry). I was so glad to finally meet this guy. For the last year or so, not a month would pass without someone walking up to me in a dimly lit bar and thinking I was this guy.
me
Which left the black one for me.
me
How do you turn two baby-tees into muscle-tees? Easy! You just put them on two huge, musclebound hulks of men.
me
I mean, look at the size of the sodas the lady gave us. They were so big they actually had a little handle up top like a BEACH PAIL.
me
Here's me leaning in and making eating noises trying to get Grant to make good on his threat. (I figured worse case scenario, if he actually did throw up, we could just put one of the huge soda-pails in front of him to catch the mess!).
me
After we polished off the first bucket, Grant was feeling pretty sick. Fatty and I started on the second bucket and Grant was like "Please stop eating you guys. Seriously. I'm so full the sound of you eating is going to make me throw up."
me
Sometimes those late night food tv commercials can straight fuck your night up. Grant and I were at my house watching tv, trying to figure out what to get for dinner, and all of a sudden this KFC commercial comes on. We both started drooling and were like, "Let's get that (points to TV)." The nearest KFC is up on 14th and 1st (about 20 blocks from my place) so on the walk up, we called the Fatty and he joined us. We got to that KFC only to find it closed early for construction. We remember that there was another KFC on 14th near 6th Ave. Craving chicken, we braved on. As we went up to order, the lady told us, "We're closing - but if you want, I'll give you two buckets of chicken, biscuits and three sodas for ten bucks." SOLD! Cha-ching!
me
Me with the top secret proprietor of lasagnafarm.com. Shhhhh.

At 8:59pm, just as we sat down on a bench to eat our dinner the power was finally restored to Soho and the Lower East Side (we were the last neighborhoods in all of NYC to get it restored going a whoppoing 28 hours and 28 minutes without it)! As the lights came up all around us, people everywhere were laughing and clapping and cheering and singing. Yay, power!

A little bit later, a squinty, cranky Tara showed up and Grant and I tried to entertain her by...

...sculpting our sweaty hair into comical 'do's. Keep in mind, the power's been only around seven hours and we're already reduced to stuff like this. Ashamed and discouraged, we all realized that the sooner we just went to bed, the sooner we might wake up to discover that the power would be back on.

We sat around waiting for the BBQ to start and after a while the bartender finally came out to the back patio with a whole cooler full of meat - but then they weren't able for the life of them get the grill going (they had a charcoal grill, but couldn't find the briquette chimney that makes igniting the charcoal really easy). A former teen-pyromaniac, I could only sit by for so long before offering up my assistance. I got that shit cookin', yo. And this guy thinks he's the Firestarter. Psssh.

Here's me at my utter sweatiest and crankiest.
DSC02737.jpg

Hot, sweaty and tired in a way that only comes from having recent, unwanted proximity to another man's plumbag, we plunked our party down at a table outside in the back patio.
DSC02736.jpg
original not copied to this machine yet
Also, try to keep in mind that it's like 95 degrees outside. As our office started heating up (no AC, remember?), I decided to lay down and take a nap and wait for the power to come back on. I must've fallen into a deep sleep, because Grant managed to brain me pretty good. He loses points for not having my face in the pic, tho. (Thank god).
me
...and two guys: Pascal and Nicolas - who in the most randomest coincidence of all time were fans of this website! It turns out Pascal and Nicolas work for a French wine company that had done business with Nerve and one day while Google-searching for information on Nerve, they came across my site and ended up reading most of it. So when Laure went to introduce Grant and myself to them, they were like "We already know zeese guys! Zey are cuh-razy!"
me
Yay, Frenchgirls!
me
After a few drinks, there was a...

That is until he got next to her and forced his alcohol-impaired, little eyes to focus for a second. Actually, forget the dim light, s/he's actually pretty hot regardless of what she may (or may not be) packing downstairs.

Success!
me
A few moments later, I saw this girl Ali I know (whom Grant had never met) over by the bar and told her I wanted to introduce her to buddy Grant.
me
Oy vey.
me
I met up with a well-liquored Grant on 2nd & 2nd and we walked up to meet Vinay outside of Plaid on 13th & 4th (actually "well-liquored" is probably a bit of an understatement considering he almost threw up on the walk up).
