On Monday I was finallly back in NYC after back to back trips, first out to Whistler, BC to go camping at Joffrey Lakes , and then out to the Poconos for Jared's Bachelor Weekend ! On Thursday morning I grabbed Maddy, hopped in a cab up FDR... Is tired from digging through a door. And then later that evening, I practicing reiki on Mer. Post-treatment cuddles with Maddy. On the walk home, Maddy ran into her doppleganger (dapple-ganger?), Esther! You guys look like ME! They are always so excited to see each other! Squad. Vin came over for a hang on Wednesday. Bunk buddies. Sleeping between feet! Maddy vanquished squirrels to their trees. Spent the evening throwing various items down the hallway hundreds of times for this tiny terror... Maddy likes when I practice reiki on people and makes little crying noises until I lift her onto the table so she can nap between their legs while I work. Haha. Meredith spend the weekend hanging out with Maddy while I was away both days taking my class. Davo came back to mine for a few days on Tuesday. We spent the afternoon designing fliers to try to get more people to come to our new weekly dance party.... All tuckered out from the heat! Buddies. On Saturday afternoon, Meredith came over to watch Maddy while I headed out of town for a night. Conked out. I smell ocean! Why you no take me to beach anymore? Maddy loves to roll around in the huge piles of mulch they dump in Tompkins. Pretty flowers on the fence. Getting the party started is hard work! On the walk over to East River Park there's an old fire hydrant they've converted into a dog water fountain. Haha. This one starts at one end of the couch and slowly moves across to the other end to follow the sunbeam as it moves. Haha. Tired this one out with a long morning walk... Happy Father's Day to my dog-child! Bark like an Egyptian-uh. Took Maddy for a walk and snapped a few selfies of my new haircut so I could update the photos on my online dating profile. On Friday night, I took the train down to South Jersey... Spent Saturday morning exploring the community garden with Maddy. I love her sun-snoozing face. This one passes out so hard in a sunbeam. I went for a run and surprised Maddy when I came home and plopped down next to her on the couch. Cuddling a leg with face hanging off the couch. Haha. Showed Grant how to plug the guitar into GarageBand and tried my best to prod him into writing songs again . There are pigeon-nests hidden in the girders underneath the pedestrian overpass and Maddy is determined to observe them all. ...PIGEONS! Yes, hello... Took Maddy for a long walk to walk that shit off. Maddy checking out her morning pee-mail. (Peeing on stuff is like Facebook for dogs) Walking the ladies. Woke up Tuesday morning to find these two rough-housing on the couch and making weird goose-honking noises at each other. ...and then she pulls her head out and attacks Edie! Repeat times one-hundred. Maddy likes to play this game where she buries her head under a blanket (she can't see anything so she thinks she's invisible?)... Finished up early enough to take a late-afternoon nap with these two bozos. Later that evening, Grant and Amanda came over for a hang. They brought powder-sugar doughnuts... Bookends. Grant came over early on Thursday morning because we'd agreed to help my neighbor Theresa move a bunch of large pieces of art work from her storage unit to her studio. Sun is slowly melting my tiny dog brain. One of my favorite things is watching Maddy settle down into a sunbeam, all squinty-eyed... ...and then watch her try her hardest to stay awake. What wants? Is sleepy! Huh? Maddy lazily half-burroughed under blanket after her morning walk. Where is the face? Yes, hello. Who lives here? Maddy is OBSESSED with squirrels, pigeons & rats. Squirrel go up a tree. Pigeon fly away. Big nose was underfoot for the entire project. Someone needed their jacket for the morning walk. Roses for my pigeon-vanquishing hero. Maddy is really good at stalking pigeons. She sneaks up on them all slow and low and then pounces! Saturday morning pop-in from the Grizz. Maddy has a very specific dirty look she gives me when she's ready for a walk. Walk now? Came home to find the dogsitter smashing the dog! Hey! Where the lady go? I was sick for almost a whole week! By Sunday I was feeling better. Meredith came over to hang out and to see Maddy. Someone fell asleep while wearing their hand-hat! These are my friends. There are many like them, but these ones are mine. Maddy fluffed the couch pillows to the group's adoration. Treat-sleepy. Me and squinty, in our matching winter jackets,...
