After working up an appetite, we headed over to the nearby Cheesecake Factory for dinner. Fried Macaroni & Cheese balls. Mmmm. Met up with Grant afterwards to a celebratory meal and a radio show debriefing! Man of Kent takeout dinner is a cabin staple. On Friday night Meredith and Gurj came over! We had dinner at my place... Another night of Man of Kent take-out by lantern-light. Mmmmmm. Headed to Lumberjack's for a coffee and a breakfast sandwich. We picked up a dinner at Man of Kent and feasted back at the cabin. Met up with Grant at Odessa (RIP!) to give him the keys to the cabin so he could go up there for a few days. My dad was discharged from the hospital after a scary two weeks. Nice to have him back home! Lots of sandwiches and books. After a few hours in the morning, Brett and I went out to grab lunch... Jane Anne showing off our collection of groceries. Place makes my favorite breakfast sandwich. Has bacon, sausage, egg, cheese and MAPLE SYRUP DRIZZLE. ...to pick up coffees and breakfast sandwiches. Omfg, Man of Kent rules. The fried Brie with cranberry sauce and a Blue Cheese Wedge Salad for starters. Yassss. Well-catered spread from Virgils. Late night dinner! Mmmm, Georgia's East Side BBQ. I still think about this sandwich almost every week. Sandwich, smoothie, salad lunch. On Saturday afternoon I met up with Cynthia in the West Village and we went to Dojo for a Japanese lunch. ...for a maple syrup sweetened ice coffee and a breakfast sammy. Place is so yummy. Picked up a late night dinner at Man of Kent. Grabbed lunch at Rippers...Grant brought his own fancy gym diet meal. ...to hit a big new international food court type of place... Wednesday lunch with Grant at Yucca Cafe. Weird fish salad for the plane meal, but you can't win them all. Fruit, cheese and buttered bread breakfast. Had ourselves a super-cosy Finnish dinner of sausages and bread with cheese and butter. Mmmmmmm. ...Doug & Anni's apartment for dinner! Later that night I took myself out for a fancy meal by myself back in Helsinki. Truffle risotto. Mmmmm. ...and received us in his private quarters for a dinner of Tibetan dumplings! ...until I found an Italian restaurant that looked tasty. Had dinner on a rooftop restaurant... ...that had a very cool vegetable storage rack. ...and then we had some (???) Finnish empanada type snack things! Tuomo cooked us an amazing dinner... The meal was pretty solid. ...and was back in the air for another three and a half hours. ...and gorge myself on beers... ...and all sorts of slices of fancy assorted sammiches. ...a whole nother grill. ....so much food! Late night I ordered my favorite chicken sandwich from Georgia's Eastside BBQ (with mac & cheese, baked beans and cornbread) Uggggh. Miss this place so much. Can't stop fucking with that Georgia's East Side BBQ Nashville Chicken sandwich. Mmmmm. Had reiki and another culinary adventure with Kevin on Wednesday. After weeks of going BBQ, Kevin called a wildcard and we got Halal Guys. ...and mix it all together. Lamb chicken combo on rice. Mmmmm. Gotta get lots of white sauce and hot sauce... Had an Ethiopian feast for dinner. Had a reiki and southern BBQ feast from Georgia's East Side BBQ (RIP!) with Kevin in the evening! On Thursday night we met up on the West Side because for Gurj's birthday last month I'd surprised her with tickets to see... ...while I put the groceries away. Jared and company whipped up a Memorial Day BBQ style feast for dinner. Afterwards, we took Lizzy out for a celebratory meal at Souen! Had a double-entre late night victory feast from Odessa. A cheeseburger with onions & swiss and an entire container of penne vodka because WHY NOT? (Also, I think the chef added way too much actual vodka because I actually got DRUNK eating this pasta and I don't think that's supposed to happen??) ...I got the breakfast burrito! ...breakfast sandwich! Mmmm, Paquito's burrito with sopasilla with honey & cinnamon on top for dessert! ...to grab a giant sandwich at Sunny Annie deli.... Buttered toast with honey after a long dog walk. Pancakes & milkshake for dinner is my ultimate comfort flex. ...and had late night pancakes, eggs & bacon from Odessa. (RIP!) ...you get to have 2 sandwiches for lunch. Mmmm. While eating my Sunday croissant, I received an email from my realtor telling me... And ended the night with a Thai feast from Thai Terminal! Went to Odessa for some afternoon winter borst because I am an old man like that. Got me a side of Ethiopian spring rolls! On Saturday night I picked up an Ethiopian feast. Met up with Vin for lunch at Quantum Leap in the West Village. I'm gonna need a burrito an some guac for this! Went to Vietnamese with Amanda in Chinatown. ...and then headed home for an early night and a Japanese Curry. Unnnnngh so good. ...and ate at Dojo by myself! Went to Sunny Annie deli for a tricked out sammich and lots of fruits and seaweed! ...but hey, THAI FOOD!
