Brandon and I admiring...
me
Then I started doing my David Brent "find yourself in the hotseat, yeah?" face that always...
me
"Hi, Mom? It's Brian. Can you pick Brandon, Gurj and me up from the mall in an hour? No, not the Ledgewood Mall, the Rockaway Mall. Yeah, ok. Meet you by the Cinnabon! Thanks, Mom!"
me
...where I just kick back and chill in my pink Mets visor. Hahah. Actually, these are the only pics of a lost Sunday I spent at Karen's house watching TV and eating takeout. (And that's totally Karen's not-ironic-at-all, pink Mets visor!) Ha!
me
Sometimes I like to have a mellow Sunday all to myself...
me
Later on Saturday night, I met up with Brandon...
me
No Mercy! (Thanks again for the shirts, Dave! After I received the shirts, I spent like two hours on 80sTees.com reminiscing about TV shows I'd totally forgotten about!)
me
When I got home that evening, there was a package waiting for me at the apartment! A few days prior, I'd gotten an email from a guy named Dave who does PR for a 80sTees.com. While browsing the web, he'd found a few entries where I joke about looking like "Sweep the Leg Johnny" from the Karate Kid and hooked me up with some sweet Cobra Kai shirts!
me
By the time we got to the LES, whatever party we were supposed to have been attending, had long since ended. So instead we made friends with a bearded, black cowboy...
me
And so our classy night was taken to even classier heights.
me
Best fake-date ever!
me
We finally got our check around 1:30am! (Thanks for putting up with us, waitstaff at Morimoto!).
me
Which led to taking a whole bunch of pictures where we're smiling with chocolaty-brown shit-teeth!
me
..and I ended up with chocolate mousse on (and in) my nose.
me
Paula's attempt to spoon-feed me in a seductive manner went horribly awry...
me
...means that we were all acting like this by the time our entrees showed up.
me
Pseudo-couple Paula and me.
me
On Thursday afternoon, Benjamin made the mistake of leaving his brand new camera out on his desk when he went to the bathroom, so Mike and I picked it up and took a bunch of "secret photos" for him to find later. This one made me laugh so hard that I took a picture of the picture so I'd have a copy of it on my camera. Meta!
me
First Place: Doh! (At least she doesn't have a big ol' nose like me).
me
I love pipe!
me
On Saturday night Posh Tony came over. We ate pizza...
me
Kent was sleepy from too many ribs and took a lil' nappy-nap on the way home.
me
Amanda and me.
me
On Monday night I went out in the LES and ran into Ben Cho...
me
...and Xiomara!
me
I forget this girl's name! But she was really nice and I had a lil' crush on her!
me
Eva and me.
me
And this tough-guy in the background that decided to do a set of 10 "public pushups!" every fifteen minutes or so.
me
Then we made ugly faces!
me
And then I played with Ratso (whose pink, Kool-Aid fur had pretty much gone back to white).
me
I look like a turtle.
me
After almost dying on my bike ride to work on Thursday morning (a big truck pulled over into my bike lane and almost smooooshed against a row of parked cars), I decided to stop being an idiot and went to the bike store during lunch and bought a helmet.
me
Hahaha. She pretty much nailed it her very first time! I like how she combined the "NJ-Guido Brow-Furrow" with the "Staten Island Mouth-Pout." A very effective combo!
me
Meredith caught Vin and I taking one of our signature "Tough Guy" photos that we've been doing as joke since at least 1998, and wanted to give being a "tough guy" a shot.
me
I tried to take a group shot of us all in the elevator and failed miserably. Boo!
me
The previous photo was so nice that I just had to sneak myself into it.
me
...leads to faces like this! Hahaha! I love you, you little klepto elf!
me
Me acting like a jackass and playing air guitar (I love how Eva is totally giving me the "You're a jackass" look).
me
Mer and me (and Quinn peeking out in the back!)
me
Eva and Jenny brought along a bunch of the 90s CDs and we spent the drive down signing...
me
Thankfully, there was a place to pull over and I managed to get off the road and latch it down without incident.
me
...our rental car's hood started lifting up! Scary! I the hood wasn't latched down and as we picked up speed going down the highway, the wind started trying to flip it up!
me
We'd just left NYC and were heading south on a NJ highway when suddenly...
me
METAL!
me
Certainly not this guy.
me
...my friend Emilie's mom that I'd met once back in April of 2004 when I went to go see Emilie's photography show! And the crazy thing is, she totally remembered me too! (here's the pic from the only other time we met!). We hung out in the back of the plane and chatted and then before long...
me
This guy's ready for bed! (By the way, the awesome Misfits + Alfred E. Neuman shirt was given to me by Amy K when she was the manager of the aNYthing store for a little while. Thanks, Amy! I'll miss the Teenage Unicorn so bad!)
me
Then I made sure I could use my new camera to take pictures of myself where you can't really tell that I'm the one holding the camera. (Which is important when you travel by yourself!)
me
A week later I got a call from Alysha who was in town visiting from San Francisco! We went to Veselka and got our latke and pierogi on...and then headed over to the basement of Lit for some Sunday night karaoke action!
me
Caitlin and I.
me
On Monday night, Meredith and I went to NINJA for a birthday dinner with her parents! Here's me (doing my best ninja impression) with the birthday girl!
me
After we finished bathing our vermin, I started making cupcakes for Meredith's birthday!
me
...I gave her a vigorous rubbing with a towel which she actually seemed to like a lot. (The Bad One, however, turned out to pretty much HATE taking a bath and scratched the shit out of my arm when she tried using it to climb up out of the water!)
me
On Sunday night we cleaned the rats' cage and then I decided to give them their very first...
me
Sarah, Nina, Wendy, the Birthday Boy and me.
me
On Friday night I went out to Brooklyn for Siege's Mardi Gras-themed birthday party! Here's me with Catrinel (I think!).
me
Early in the month I had found out that Erica Bryndza (who I went to high school with) worked right down the street from me in Soho! So on Wednesday we met up for lunch! It was the first time I'd seen her in like 10 years! Crazy!
me
On my way home from work on Friday, I stopped at Patagonia and picked up this totally awesome winter coat, because Big Blue (the winter jacket that was a hand-me-down from my dad that he bought in 1970!) just wasn't keeping me warm anymore. Goodbye, Big Blue. Hello, Bigger and Bluer!
me
Leigh even ended up dominating the "Power" game where you use the ball to knock down progressively larger pin-formations! 567 to 396? Bah!
me
And last but not least, yours truly with Aunt Elaine. (My little brother was away from work and couldn't make it. Bad son! Bad son!)
me
And Corrie!
me
After spending a few minutes sitting in a chair in the restaurant's lobby making sure I felt better, I hailed a cab and headed home. I took this picture of "fainting goat" me as soon as I got inside. Sorry I missed your birthday dinner, Ellen! Hahahah.
me
We all went to school together and it's always a nice surprise to randomly run into them!
me
I love boobies!
me
Awwww. C'mon Amy, bring back the Teenage Unicorn.
me
John Roche and Mike Doyle (who was in town visiting from San Francisco). PS - What's with the "hip hop hands" again? I guess I was feeling big pimpin' back then.
me
My friend Amy K has a "no photos after 4am" policy. I always used to chastise her for being a baby, but now that I'm looking at this picture of myself throwing up "hip hop hands" while wearing a vulture mask that's timestamped 4:47am, I'm beginning to see where she's coming from.
me
Let's start off the brand new year with a really, really disturbing photo of me! On Wednesday I went to the eye doctor to get new contact lenses and she gave me those eye drops that make your pupils dilate so that she could check my retinas. Look how creepy they make your eyes look! Ew!
