Edie was exploring our new apartment and was really intrigued by a roll of saran wrap that she found (that'd we'd used to wrap boxes in our recent move). So I took it upon myself to use the packing-wrap to make Edie a little doggie outfit.
After our table had been cleared of food, and after looking around to make sure the coast was clear (dog in a restaurant = health code violation!), we had a special out-of-the-bag surprise visit from Edie!
On Wednesday night I went over Tinny's house to hang out. Her birthday was coming up and she'd just received her mom's gift in the mail! The bad news was that it wasn't exactly her style. The good news was...
...and Leigh (seen here doing her best Coldstare! Icy!) was there with her brand new dappled daschund puppy Edie! Look at her teeny, tiny little weiner body! Go ahead: Awwwwwww!
As "those two" got closer, we realized it was Ellen and Leigh and that we'd just been busted checking out our own friends! Ellen was there with Piper...
...named Sarah and Leigh as two of New York's "Most Influential New Yorkers!" Here's the two-page spread of my two lovelies side by side! Congrats, you two!
A half an hour later, I went downstairs to get my coat and lookee who I found catchin' a lil' nap down in the basement. Hey, we all need a break sometimes. ; )
Here's Leigh summoning an extra jolt of power from her broken, wonky finger. In the end, they called it a draw! Fancy should've totally turned his hat around backwards and turned "from a man to a MACHINE!", ala Lincoln Hawk (!!!), the competitive arm wrestler (expertly!) portrayed by Sylvester Stallone's in the greatest (only?) arm wrestling-themed movie of all time: "Over the Top". What's that? You've never heard of this incredible movie? Dont' worry, YouTube's got you covered.
Not to go too far off onto an "Over the Top" tangent, but I think it's probably important (cathartic?) for me to mention that not only did I see this movie in the theater during its original theatrical run, I saw this movie on my very first date! How insane is that? I was in fifth grade, and Geri Fox and I went on a double date with Jimmy Rotsides and Renee Rusch! Hahaha. Afterwards, the girls' parents picked them up and then Jimmy and I went to the Ledgewood Mall where I bought one-pound bag of watermelon jellybeans (at Sound-o-rama!) and then went and slept over Jimmy's house. We talked about how awesome our dates went and how awesome we were for taking "our girls" to the "right" movie. I ended up eating the entire one-pound bag of jellybeans and threw up in the middle of night. Holy jeez, what memories! How did I get so old?
And now it's time for the "where are they now" part of this VH1 series: Geri Fox is married, I ran into her and met her husband at Bev Chase's wedding! Jimmy Rotsides, unfortunately, died. He sort of grew up into a rough character and sometime around '99 or so he ended up falling out of a canoe while fishing and drowned in a pond in my home town. Sad. As for Renee Rusch, I have no idea what happened to her! So Renee, if you ever read this, say hi! (Okay, this is starting to sound like the lyrics to a Bryan Adams' song "Jimmy died, Geri got married..." so I guess that means it's time to leave memory lane and get back to...
I know it looks like they're kidding around, but I assure you, this was DEADLY SERIOUS. Here they are approaching the end of minute one and they're still locked up at the top! (Check out Alexis' face as she cheers them on. Hahaha!)
And then even later on Saturday night I braved the cold and went over to MisShapes and when I got there Leigh (no longer wearing pink and red) stole my hat.
On Saturday evening I stopped by Leigh's apartment to get something I'd left there and she answered the door in her ketchup hoodie! (Which I hadn't seen in years!) Here's Leigh looking sad because I caught her wearing a red hoodie with pink shoes! Even I know those colors don't go together! Hahah.
Waaaaay later that night (after I'd gotten a chance to go home, change out of my suit and tie and sleep off my open-bar wastedness) I headed over to MisShapes. I only took two photos. This one.
Around 4:30am, the bar was closed and we were all hanging around waiting for Sarah and Karen to pack up their gear, things started getting frisky. It started out with some MilliVanilli-style boobie-bumpin' going on between Leigh and Gurj.
Then later, when Leigh followed up with a surprise "got yer tit" attack, it became clear that boobies were going to be the next "big thing" of the night.
So Gurj and I are down there, hiding in the back, getting kind of drunk and lookee lookee who else shows up! Lil' Miss Leigh Lezark (seen here giving me her best Princess Coldstare gaze).
Afterwards, I went to Don Hills to catch the end of MisShapes. I was shocked to find Leigh actually DJing when I arrived! It was like the first time I'd been there in months where she wasn't hiding out somewhere!
After we were done admiring Leigh's newly misshapen (HA!) finger, we found an empty bucket in the back of the coat room that was filled with tubes of caulk. Which immediately led to a full-out...
Gurj dishes some "bump from the back" while Leigh takes caulk up front. (This whole stupid thing is probably only funny in person (maybe not even then) when you can hear that Leigh and I, who are both New Jersey natives, actually say the word "cock" very much like we say the word "caulk.") Get it? Get it???
After the vampire contest was over, Leigh showed off how her finger healed all wonky after never having gone to the doctor to get it set properly after having gotten it broken a few months back on Halloween. Hahah.
Late, late late night, I met up with Leigh and Posh Tony over at Black and White and we ended up getting shit-hammered. We got so drunk that we somehow ended up becomming best new friends...
