I'm alway asking Meredith to walk or kneel on muscle knots in my back and over the years she's gotten real good at it. Ellen had a sore mid-back and so Mer went to work. Judging us so hard Maddy and Piper chased each other around. Ellen came over on Friday evening. Meredith captured a little bit of my post morning-walk cuddle time with the grimple. On Monday morning Ryan dropped off an Edie with us. Double weinerage! Maddy likes to nuzzle up in your nooks. I spent the rest of the day reading with my buddy. Morning coffee with my buddies. Sun snoozers. Dog smooch time! Watching some Monday night tv with my buddy. What a grimple! She and Jared came over to hang out before heading out into the neighborhood for birthday drinks! LAZY SUNDAY! When timed correctly, a photo of Maddy yawning is basically Odie from Garfield. Haha. Foot snuggler! Did some napping. I like to fall asleep holding Maddy like a smash-nosed football. Haha. On Sunday we got caught trying to bring Maddy onto the bus back to NY (NO DOGS ALLOWED!) and we ended up having to wait 2 hours and spend a lot of money to take the train home. (And we still had had to hide her because dogs weren't allowed on the train either!). WieneRenion. ...and smuggled Maddy aboard a bus and headed down... Work buddies. Later that afternoon, we dropped Jagger off... Greeted back at home by not one... Biggy & Maddy! Haha. Afternoon nap buddies. On Sunday evening Pauly came over... ...but soon I was alone. Work buddy. ...his adorable new dog! Catching up on dog snoozes. Back at the apartment, Maddy looked on nervously while... Later that evening, we walked down to the LES and Maddy had a serious stand-off with a bodega cat that was luckily, for Maddy's benefit, behind two inches of bullet-proof glass. After around two entire minutes of no movement on either part, the cat leaped at the glass out of nowhere and Maddy howled with fear. Haha. ...you switch laptops. Maddy will only let you send so many emails before she expects... Later that night, we had a few people over for a low key hang. Speckle Horse. Maddy likes to be held like a football under the covers. Valentine's Day card from my mom. Maddy really appreciates all the work she puts into finding dachshund-related material! Cupid crew. Later that evening, we hunkered down and did some separate work together. Taking me on a walk. Maddy's tiny mind was also blown. Haha. Back at home watching this idjit happily gnaw her rawhide. Grimples. Later that evening, Jared & Ellen joined us... Another night, another dog party. Trying to walk these two at the same time is tricky. Awww, buddies. And two tiny dogs. On Saturday we got a Piper to watch while Ellen was away on vacation! She kept near my backpack to make sure I wasn't planning another getaway. On Thursday Mer and I traveled back to New York after two weeks in Florida . As soon as we got home we ran over to Caiti's to pick up our grimple! Wait, you're not going to leave me here, right? On Tuesday afternoon, I went over to Leigh's to drop Maddy off. She'd agreed to pooch-sit while we were away for the holidays. Unfortunately for Maddy, holiday-stays with Leigh come along with elf costumes. FEATS OF STRENGTH! Maddy has a natural affinity towards lederhosen. A little after ten, Ellen and her NEW BOYFRIEND Hans came over to pre-game. Octoberfest & Sexy Airline Stewardess Wakey wakey! Four hours later and Maddy was still in cuddle buddy heaven. What's better than having a nap guard dog? With a belly full of breakfast, the few Ambien Grant had taken on the plane were lingering and he still felt pretty altered. He decided to lay down to sleep it off. Maddy LOVES Grant and was so excited to have her favorite buddy back to nap with. Later that evening, Caiti and Jagger came over for a hang. Later that night we all cuddled up on the couch... Puh-thetic. Nap buddies. ...hung out with the grimple for a bit (and borrowed Meredith's glasses!). ...and I am totally alright with that. Hey, why's it getting so chilly? WTF? Egg dog. Ellen came over later that evening! We walked the dogs over to Sheen Brothers... ...and then we took Maddy and Jagger to the dog park. ...then hung out with my buddy and trash-picked records in the afternoon. On Friday morning, Mer and I took Maddy on an early stroll to the dog park. These two. Later that evening, Matt and Ellen came over to welcome us back home! Yay! ...watched the surfers for a bit and then we loaded up a car service car with all of our gear and headed back home to the East Village! We took the hound for one last stroll down the boardwalk... Post-beach QT with the houndine. As soon as we got back into town, we picked up our hound and then got on the subway to head back to our Rockaway Beach rental for a few more days. ...and to drop off Maddy with Caiti in preparation for us driving out to Ohio for Steve and Rachel's wedding! We took the pooch for a nice long beach walk... GRIMPLE! The couch seems like it was designed to camouflage Maddy! Maddy likes to cuddle our sleepover buddies. Later that night, we snuggled with Maddy on the couch and watched... ...and got the royal welcome from the weiner hound! Not impressed. Later that evening... Took the dog for a long walk near the beach. (No dogs allowed when there's people around) Maddy saw them in the waves and was convinced they were some kind of weird... Thanks, buddy. ;) Bird hound! Maddy is a big fan of her new evening walk routine. Get it, weiner hound! I have the best reading buddy in the world.
