SHOWDOG!
dogs
Here's Mer, Leigh and (a foot-biting) Scott with the little, wiener-y contest all dressed up and ready to walk in her school bus outfit
dogs
Later that night, Murdo came by to drop off Hector for us to dog sit for a while! Talk about a Dogtastic Sunday!
dogs
Even Honey Pie was sad for me.
dogs
I came home from work to discover a new dog-visitor in our apartment! This little nugget's name is Honey Pie. She belongs to Meredith's classmate that was traveling for a couple of days and Meredith had offered to dogsit! She was the softest, pinkest-nosed Chiuaua I'd ever seen.
dogs
Hahaha. Look at her squinty eys and big, pink bottom lip.
dogs
Later that night, Scott (and Jericho) drove down and picked me up...
dogs
When I got back to our place, I was greeted by this friendly, turkey-boned visitor! Leigh had dropped off Edie for a couple of days while she was traveling!
dogs
This is one of my favorite Edie pics because you can really see how long and weinery her weird body is! It also does an excellent job of showcasing her turkey-bone which you can see jutting out at what is pretty much a right-angle from the rest of her body!
dogs
Oh, and Edie was there and rocking the school bus outfit that Meredith hand-made for her for halloween. Hahaha. Who's a cute little WienerBus?
dogs
Watch out! They'll lick the shit outta your face!
dogs
Animal FunTime Party House got even better when Leigh came by and dropped off Edie off with us! Look how excited Meredith is to have two little lap-weasels!
dogs
Keep at it, Ol' Boy! It's really coming along!
dogs
I came home that night and found Hector on the couch working on his impression of the Firefox Logo.
dogs
The anger quickly disappeared and was replaced by shame and embarrassment. So busted.
dogs
We came home and Hector was angry with us for having caught him pretending he's being delivered by a stork.
dogs
On Tuesday night, Meredith and I were coming home from dinner in Nolita and we passed David's apartment. We called for Lord Alred and he ran to the window to greet us. A couple of minutes later...
dogs
On Sunday Fatty came over for a hang. And to cuddle Hector like he's a little hairy fox-baby (Which he is).
dogs
On Wednesday evening, Meredith (and Hector in a bag!) and I...
dogs
Oh, and later that evening Murdo came by and dropped off Hector so that we could dogsit him for a few days! Yay!
dogs
Here's a zoom in of the photo above. WTF, right?
dogs
We got all the way down on the rocks and couldn't believe our eyes! It was a dog standing on what looked like a rock!
dogs
Delicious people-hand! NOM NOM NOM.
dogs
About an hour after we'd finished lunch, the rain finally stopped and we headed back out onto the beach where we made friends with a very friendly, albeit very bitey and very smelly beach puppy!
dogs
We spent the rest of the night hanging out on the porch with Crookjaw...
dogs
At another bend in the river, we were greeted by two more dogs who were excited to see people in the river. They were running back and forth and barking like crazy - and even went so far as to wade into the river to get a better look at us. It was really cute.
dogs
Every time Meredith would start to put her tube down and get in the water, Crookjaw would start furiously barking at her! He didn't want to be left alone!
dogs
Crookjaw even came along with us! We'd been petting him so much that he'd begun to act like he was our dog! It was really cute.
dogs
...played with Crookjaw...
dogs
...and the friend that Crookjaw brought along to meet us. We called him OneEye! (It's hard to tell in this photo, but he was missing his right eye).
dogs
After an epic seven hour nap (traveling in Thailand can be pretty exhausting), we spent what little was left of the day lazing around and reading on our bungalow's front porch where we made friends with one of the local stray dogs! If you look at his mouth you'll see that it looks like he'd broken his jaw in the past and it had healed a bit crooked with led us to dub him Crookjaw the Friendly Dog!
dogs
After visiting the Wat, we stopped by a nearby travel agency and booked a trip to Khao Sok National Park, the largest protected forest in Thailand! Meredith took a bunch of pictures of me at the ATM...
dogs
...because she thought it was hilarious that my presence didn't even cause the dog sleeping at the ATM to even look up.
dogs
...head back to Faisal's to pick up our bags and head to the airport! Here's Mer saying goodbye to Rocco (the sweetest little nugget of a dog ever).
dogs
Later that night, I woke Meredith (and Rocco!) up from their team nap and we packed up all of our stuff so that we'd be ready to head to the airport and catch our flight to Thailand! After we were finished packing, we headed out for dinner!
dogs
Here's a photo of Rocca, you know, just looking adorable.
dogs
"Reading and relaxing" very quickly turned into "lapsing into a food coma" and we both woke up five hours later! Hahaha. Here's Meredith and Rocco waking up from their nap together!
dogs
...Faisal introduced us his family's dogs (Here's Meredith giving Rocco a belly-rubbing) and then we...
dogs
On a lighter note, it was in the library that we got to meet...
dogs
...Foxy the Pomeranian! Hahahaha. Best photo ever! After the library, Bernadette took us out back so that we could meet...
dogs
Alexis was doing something weird in the background of this photo and when I showed it to her...
dogs
...wiener dog soap! That looked just like Edie!
dogs
Meredith's friend Lisa was going out of town for a couple of days and on Sunday she brought her dog Sadie over for us to dogsit!
dogs
Monkey, Edie and Joanie. There were dogs everywhere!
dogs
Josh and his new French Bulldog puppy!
dogs
Meredith and Edie.
dogs
Ellen gives the thumbs up as Hector gives Piper's B-hole a deep sniffing! Haha.
dogs
...Sarah brought Monkey over for an introduction.
dogs
Meredith's friend Lisa went away for the long weekend so we got to dogsit her Italian Greyhound, Tina!
dogs
Meredith stuck her tongue out to do an impression of Piper and right when I snapped the picture, Piper (who is a notorious face-licker) saw Meredith's tongue sticking out and WENT FOR IT! Hahaha. I love this photo soooo much.
dogs
Here's Meredith enjoying Piper's cornchip-scented ears. Mmmmmmm! Piper has the longest tongue in the world. When she closes her mouth, the tip of her tongue is always peeking out because it's too big to fit in her mouth!
dogs
Around 2:30am, we headed back downstairs. Check out Monkey in the background looking like she needs some lovin'
dogs
Is there anything better than sweet, sweet Monkey-love?
dogs
Piper wasn't very happy about the placement of her backstage pass...
dogs
...until Ellen turned it into a little VIP hat!
dogs
After Leigh got the dog all wound up, it would leave Lauren alone. Hahaha.
dogs
"Mmmmmmm....delicious arm!"
dogs
Watch out for the red rocket!
dogs
Leigh started wrassling with him and got him all riled up.
dogs
His dog was down to keep on PARTYING!
dogs
Piper was there doing her thing. Walking across the game board...
dogs
...showing off her doggy-dingus. You know, the usual.
dogs
Happy New Year, Sarah and Monkey!
dogs
Mmmmm....box.
dogs
Zoe the dog getting ready to open her gift!
dogs
Then we ate the awesome dinner that Sarah cooked! Check out Monkey standing up like a weird muppet-person trying to get herself some delicious gnocchi!
dogs
Mmmmmmm...mission accomplished!
dogs
Someone else brought along their Brussels-Griffon dog and Monkey got to bro-down with one of her own kind!
dogs
I was trying to get another photo of Monkey "smoking" in this photo, but the cigarette fell out of her month (you can see it falling!) right when I snapped the picture.
dogs
Goodbye, Edie! We'll miss you!
dogs
Mom's home! Leigh came over to pick up Edie and she and Meredith modeled their matching shades. I love how Edie's sunglasses are sitting on her snout and her little doggy legs are just hanging down all slack. Hahaha. Best. Photo. Ever!
dogs
Ready for bed, weiner-dog? Ok, then go ahead and tuck yerself in!
dogs
Meredith shows off her newly-cleaned teeth, courtesy of Edie.
dogs
Edie's a face-licker, alright.
dogs
Edie climbs under the sheet head-first, makes a u-turn, and then pokes her lil' face out. Adorable.
dogs
Don't worry, we didn't actually light the cigarette. (Yet).
dogs
Dogs! Fighting tiny dogs! (In sweaters!)
dogs
At some point during the night, Sarah discover that if you hold a cigarette out in front on Monkey, she'll take it and just hold it in her mouth like she's a smoker! Hahahaha.
dogs
This photo makes me laugh so hard. I love how Monkey looks all stiff and fake like Sarah's holding some sort of "smoking dog" novelty toy.
dogs
...Monkey (who was also wearing a dog sweater!) and she and Edie were thick as (dog-wrestling) thieves for the rest of the night.
dogs
We were dog-sitting Edie so we made sure we dressed her up in her best Bill Cosby sweater so she could be "Dog Cosby" for Halloween!
dogs
Hahaha.
dogs
...Edie could spend some QT together. (Leigh was traveling again and so we got Edie for a few more days! Yay!)
dogs
Thursday night I went over to Sarah's to catch up and so that Monkey and...
dogs
Edie!
dogs
Sunday we went to a meeewvie. Leigh holding up the snuck-in (and incredibly chill) Edie in her lil' wiener-sweater!
dogs
Piper's tongue is too big for her mouth and so it's always peeking out. Heartbreaking.
dogs
Later that night we tried to get Meredith to come out with us, but she had a bunch of homework to do for school. So she decided to stay out home with Piper the Laser-Eyed Chiuaua (who we were taking care of for Ellen).
dogs
But then she figured out that it was for biting.
dogs
We gave her her very own giant cheeseburger (CD carrying case) and she was perplexed.
dogs
...which we later realized pretty much exactly matched Meredith's little blue windbreaker!
dogs
Check out Edie showing off her little blue windbreaker...
dogs
...and wriggled under the covers and slid down to the foot of the bed! Hahahaha.
dogs
...she got out of the way...
dogs
Leigh lets Edie sleep in the bed and Edie made it pretty clear that she expected as much from us. Daschunds were bred so that they'd be able to chase animals into holes and they apparently still love to burrow. As soon as Edie saw that I was coming to bed...
dogs
Fwiends!
dogs
She missed Meredith (Awwwww!) so she dragged them in there because they must've smelled like Meredith (Yep, Meredith smells like feet!)!
dogs
On Wednesday, Meredith and I got ourselves a lil' visitor! Edie! Leigh was going out of town on and off for a few weeks and we happily agreed to look after her pooch. Here she is making herself right at home.
dogs
There were lots o' dogs.
dogs
Dance for me! Dance I say!
