On Tuesday morning, we took a day off from surfing (to rest our sore bodies and bruised bellies!) and took a ride into the nearby city of Leon for the day.
They were filming three different episodes so there were nine couples in total. Here's us after we got separated with the other two couples we'd be appearing on an episode with!
...we quietly took this photo and let him wake up on his own pretending we hadn't noticed. About 20 minutes later, we emailed him this picture. Hahahaha.
When I came back from lunch on Tuesday afternoon, Mark was busy coding and hadn't noticed that Patrick had slowly slumped down in his chair and fallen asleep; the victim of a post-lunch food coma. Rather than wake him up...
Not enough hours later, I had to be at work the next day! I arrived to our team's office to find that Patrick had drawn awesome caricatures of us. Haha.
I love this photo. (Also, as a side note, on different days I notice that I unconsciously purchase grocery items of the same color. Apparently this day was a "red and orange" day.)
While I was sitting there, two guys showed up with upright basses and started playing together. They were both using bows and making haunting, mournful, beautiful sounds and a man wandered over holding his newborn son and was holding him up into the sound. All while reading a book about learning to let go and get lost in life moment to moment. Call it the reason I live here.
Vancouver is surreally beautiful. The whole time I was walking around, I felt like I'd been transported to some magical city fifty years in the future.
On Wednesday night we visited Marina and Dave and they proudly showed off the matching NASTY MAGIC t-shirt and onesie someone had given them as a gift.
The bar was hot and way over-crowded (what with the free ice cream and all). We worked our way into a hidden corner and our exploration was rewarded with the discovery of an industrial-strength fan. A simple flick of the switch turned that shit into a Whitesnake video situation right-quick.
