Before heading home, we stopped by Leigh and Randy's to pick up Maddy! See here modeling the latest in doggle eyewear fashion. Meredith and Matt joining the slumber party. We found a fire pit near the barn and got ourselves a nice campfire going. It looks like they're putting on a play! Meredith put Zombie in a bag and noticed that one of the framed pictures on the dresser... WHO'S GOING TO WIN? ...to play some LRC before dinner! Haha. Matt wagers a Biggy. Gurj and Mer paddleboating! Two and a half hours into the drive, we stopped at a diner up 87. Jared closed us out! It was time for karaoke! (It's been awhile, old friend) ...and congratulatory catch-up... Welcome back, Matt! ...and a whole roomful of people he knew yelled SURPRISE! Janice and Meredith helping with party favors. Meredith learning how to do photo retouching with Maddy on her lap. Later that night, Amanda came over... On Sunday afternoon, Mer and I went up to her parent's for lunch. Grant, Amanda & Cait came over in the evening so we could all watch the Breaking Bad premiere together. ...and then got lunch at Quantum Leap. Mmmm. Huge Italian feast. Later that evening, Mer and I went out to Brooklyn for dinner to celebrate... Cynthia dropped us off at Broadway Junction and we took the subway the rest of the way home. Before heading home... Sandyblanket Silverman We picked up Craig and made it out to Jacob Riis before 1130! ...Cynthia and celebrate her birthday at the beach (instead of at the zoo). So excited for a rafting adventure! ...outfitted us with paddles and marched us over... ...we grabbed some lunch and waited for our group to be called to head down to the river. Ready for some rafting. After getting suited up with life jackets... Me, Mer and Quinn in the back. Meredith and I hid out from the 100+ degree heat at Odessa. Even when you win, you lose. (Incidentally, the face I'm making here is the same one I made each year when the elementary school photographer told me to "smile" for my class photo. Haha). Maddy flopped down next to Ellen to coach her through the burn. I'm alway asking Meredith to walk or kneel on muscle knots in my back and over the years she's gotten real good at it. Ellen had a sore mid-back and so Mer went to work. New game! Who can hold a coin with their face the longest! Ellen came over on Friday evening. On Monday night after dinner... That evening Ellen came over to join us for the Mad Men season finale and Grant's puttanesca pasta with garlic bread and salad. 830am view of the family. Mer and Brett enjoying the grass. On Thursday evening, a bunch of us got together to see... Monday evening hang. Watching documentaries. On Monday morning Ryan dropped off an Edie with us. Double weinerage! ...s'mores supplies and a roaring fire! Lovelies. ...and added our names to the list of witnesses! Later that afternoon, we got dressed up for the wedding, threw our ponchos back on... We spent the rest of the morning napping, reading and hiding out from the rain. It was raining so hard on Saturday morning that we had to put on our ponchos in order to... About halfway around the island, Sarah spotted us and brought us beers! Meredith came out to join us! Sarah & Ben welcoming us to our cabin! Mobile pizza party! On Thursday morning, we picked up a rental car, drove crosstown to pick up Catrinel at the office... We walked all the way over to Fort Tilden beach and checked out the sandy pathways... Treedith. ...head to a bar right down the street to meet up with these two to see.. East 9th Street has a new gang with matching jackets! Haha. Tuesday night movie and WAY too many snacks at Siege and Katie's. Sun snoozers. On Sunday morning I went running with Grant. He slowed down considerably to accommodate my beginner's pace. Silent grazing. I don't remember if there was a special occasion or if this was just a spring friend hang, but check out the solid Saturday night crew that rolled up into our place! Ellen came over to get in on the feast. On Wednesday morning Grant came back to New York. He came straight to our place and we ate bagels in the park. Later that evening, we went to a gallery opening in the Lower East Side to see some of Clayton's art work. On the way out we ran into Spencer Tunick (who took a naked group portrait at Emma's birthday party in the Chinatown loft way back in 2003 ! After finishing up work in the morning, I had the afternoon free. Meredith and I decided to walk up Ave C... Did some napping. On Sunday we got caught trying to bring Maddy onto the bus back to NY (NO DOGS ALLOWED!) and we ended up having to wait 2 hours and spend a lot of money to take the train home. (And we still had had to hide her because dogs weren't allowed on the train either!). Later that evening, we went to dinner at the Living Social space... ...on The Art of Video Games ! ...and smuggled Maddy aboard a bus and headed down... Later that evening, we went out for drinks at HiFi! Later that evening we went over to Hans' apartment... Back at home. Happy birthday, Jeet! Mer and Biggy. Jo & Mer. On Friday evening we went up to Mer's parents house for... Afternoon nap buddies. Later that night, I finished our taxes. Woo! Ready? Happy birthday, Caiti! Take 1. Pauly came over on Friday evening and we braved the drizzling rain to check out... Still dealing with jetlag issues. Haha. Catching up on dog snoozes.
