...Michael Martin! This guy HATES being photographed! As soon as he realized that I had my camera out as soon as I walked through the door, he ran over to the other side of the room. When he turned away, I managed to fire off this crafty shot! A move which caused him to...
...and headed over to Fatty's apartment for a Holiday get together! Here's Grant with his fiance (now wife!), Aki. They were in town visiting from Whistler! They're pointing at...
Mara was in NYC visiting from Canada (before moving here permanently a few weeks later) and we got in touch and she came to see the show! Here's Grant and Mara!
Yay, it's November! On Friday night, we went to see Fiasco play a show at Crash Mansion. Crash Mansion has one of the best sounding rooms in downtown NYC, but the crowd there is always a little...
Siege and I drove over to their new apartment in the moving truck. When we arrived, we found a whole bunch of new people who had showed up to help unpack!
After our beach stroll, we were walking back to our hotel and we can across one of the the funiest bizarro dopplegangers I've ever seen! Looks like Bizarro Midget Grant Stoddard's been Big Game Fishin' again!
Talk about a perfect Sunday! We ended the night with ANOTHER Cranium party at my apartment. Here's Siege making Grant his puppet bitch in a rousing round of Sideshow (where you have to get your team to guess a clue by using your teammate's arms and legs to act out charades!) Happy July 2006!
Just because there's champagne doesn't mean Fatty's gonna give up his Smirnoff Ice! (PS - Check out Grant in the background giving Fatty the "Flying L for Loser." Hahahah)
I understood the basic principle, but was unable to get it to work the first few times I tried. (I've since gotten it down cold!) So I handed the bottle back over to Grizz and let him show off the magic!
Afterwards, Grant made his French-face (aka "What eez zee poin?"), which spawned a whole conversation about the other types of things that characterize different stereotypes. So we decided to have everyone try to represent their heritage in a photo!
Grant had also spent his weekend at the beach and was showing off a pretty, pretty nasty sunburn, which he was pretty excited about because it gave him a chance to flex his calves...
Here's "Party Grant" making his way across the dance floor like a boner-guided missle! (PS - The last recorded appearance of "Party Grant" was at Lotus in December of 2002!)
Even Grant was there (suckling Josh's teat, no less)! This might not seem like a big deal to you, but that's because you don't know that Grant HATES going out to sweaty, smoky clubs late at night. In fact, the only time "Party Grant" ever makes an appearance is when there's a specific piece of ass he's trying to woo.
If you're a fan of The Office (UK version) you might think that Grant's pulling a David Brent. But what he's actually doing is pointing at the reason why still he's out "in da club" dancing at 3am. Hahaha.
...while Meredith and Grant relaxed. (In their defense, neither of them were familiar with any songs and the sound quality wasn't exactly stellar where we were sitting).
And then Grant decided to "cool down" with a giant, 2 lb, barbeque TURKEY LEG! Hahaha. (Gross! Who the fuck can eat turkey in 90+ degree heat? You're so lucky you didn't die of salmonella).
...and then hopped in our rental and headed back to NYC! Here's a picture of Grant, Posh T and Meredith at a rest stop somewhere in the swamps of New Jersey! Congrats Emma & Rob! Thanks so much for having us!
Grant was already annoyed at Posh Tony for also being British (because it ruined Grant's "accent mojo"). He got even more pissed when he realized that he and Posh...
OMG, this photo makes me LOL on so many levels. I love how Grant's covering his mouth. That's because he knows that if he makes so much as a peep, I'll spring awake with the quickness and swat him right in the bean bag. I also love this photo because it looks like I'm dead and I can already envision my own funeral where my friends will be pulling this same exact bullshit next to my open-casket. (And Meredith will probably be the accomplice that takes the photo. Just like she did here!)
Emma and Rob's wedding ceremony was on the beach, so after we'd finished getting all dressed up, we headed a few hundred feet down to boardwalk and awaited the arrival of the bride and groom.
I thought I was so funny for doing the whole "flex-down while ironing" thing until I looked at the photo later and realized the reason Meredith was laughing so hard was because Grant had managed to brain me in the background.
A little before 1am, Meredith called to let me know that she'd arrived in town! She didn't want to miss a day of work and so after she got out of work, she took the Greyhound bus all the way down to Cape May (an EIGHT HOUR endeavor! All so she could be my wedding-date. Thanks, baby!) Here's Grant's reaction to having to leave the girls to go to the bus station and get Meredith. Hahaha.
...so Grant walked around the room and then headed back towards the table and I took a picture of him while also managing to get a better of Captain Longbeard. (What's that you ask? Why did we play this whole stupid game instead of just walking right up to Longbeard and taking a photo? Well that's because...er, wait. Nevermind).
Here's Grant and Posh Tony two hours later at the welcome dinner. Can't you tell how thrilled Grant was to be sharing a table with Posh T? Every time Grant smiled it looked like his face was going to break. Hahaha.
Antony Ellis got in on our rental car action and rode down from NYC to Cape May with us. Here's Grant in his free room pretending to be excited about having to spend the entire weekend with Posh Tony (aka - Grant's ARCH NEMESIS!).
