beach

beach
Birds + Carrots = Comedy Gold! (Yes, I know that I'm retarded).
beach
These huge military-transport helicopters kept flying back and forth in front of the beach.
beach
On Sunday Meredith and I went out to Far Rockaway to say goodbye to summer! The beach was practically deserted!
beach
We ate fruit.
beach
Sunday was the last full day of our vacation (Boo!). We relaxed around the resort, and then later that afternoon, drove around to the very southeast corner of the island to read and relax on one of the (totally deserted!) public beaches.
beach
Look to the right...not another person in sight!
beach
We both read and swam and then Meredith did some shell collecting.
beach
Awwww yeah, perfect day at the beach!
beach
Around 3pm we decided to pack it up, but not before I tried to take a sweet photo of the two of us together and Meredith made this totally amazing face behind my back. Hahaha. I love how it looks like she's actually licking my shoulder.
beach
The water was amazing! (There was a lot of sharp coral in the shallows so we needed to wear our little swimming booties in order to go in!).
beach
Look to the left...no one's around!
beach
We ate some lunch...
beach
After the butterfly farm, we ate some lunch and then later that afternoon after it'd cooled down a bit (who knew that the Caribbean would be so hot in AUGUST? Doy!) we hit the famous Seven-Mile Beach that Grand Cayman is famous for. (Where I sunbathed with my arm up in the air).
beach
Facing east!
beach
And check out the amazing view we had of the totally private (and deserted!) beach! Here's the view facing west!
beach
...and we teamed up for this incredibly hot photo. (I don't know if you know this, but I'm going to let you in on a huge secret: WE ARE HUGE FUCKING DORKS.)
beach
I took KT's tiny, velour hoodie and put on a fashion show for Siege. Sassy!
beach
Meredith took a nap of the beach: face down and covered in a towel. Hahaha.
beach
We came back from our swim to find Siege, KT and Mer in the midst of a heated game of beach Scrabble.
beach
Great success! We arrived at the beach a little after 2pm and managed to find Nina and KT!
beach
The post-procedural patient. Hahaha. Meredith had read that if the whack was successful and the cyst had been ruptured, it would take a few days to for it to go away. Nothing to do but wait! (Spoiler: the cyst didn't go away).
beach
Meredith, Nina and KT.
beach
"....3!" WHAM! Nina didn't hold back AT ALL! (BTW, check out Nina's face, you can totally tell how much effort she put into her swing! Hahaha).
beach
Here's Nina taking a few practice swings to line up her shot. "Ready? 1...2...."
beach
Hahahah. And then he took this amazing photo of us jumping! (Meredith looks like a frog!)
beach
And Siege snapped a few funny pics of Mer and I goofing around on the beach with his fancy cam. (Thanks for sending these over, Siege!). Here's our impression of that old Coppertone advertisement where a little dog is tugging at a girl's bathing suit.
beach
Awwwww.
beach
The next morning, we got up bright and early and drove down to my parent's little shore house in Beach Haven West. After dropping off our bags, we grabbed some towels and headed to the beach on Long Beach Island.
beach
Whoa, I'm actually awake on the beach here! How'd that happen?
beach
This pic pretty much sums up how I spent the next two days. Passed out on the beach with a book on my lap.
beach
And see what I mean about the beach? Almost empty!
beach
Oooh-la-la!
beach
Then Sean busted out his camera and took one of Leigh, me and Nina jumping. Leigh was determined to look as serene as possible and not pull any funny faces. She succeeded almost too well.
beach
Which I tried to fight by turning my shirt into a head scarf (something I learned how to do from the roofers when I used to frame houses back in college). Slick, right? (By the way, they totally wouldn't let me on a plane with this).
beach
Swimming in the ocean + Falling asleep with wet hair = BEACH HAIR!
beach
Many of you don't know this, but I smoke when I nap.
beach
Then we pretty much did all the normal beach stuff. You know, swimming, reading, napping, Scrabble playing...
beach
Later on, I got everybody to get up and do a jump take for my camera. They got it perfect on the first try. Every time I'm having a crappy day, I can look at this pick and it will instantly make me laugh my ass off. Everybody is pulling great faces too (click here for hi-rez version). But the very best thing about this photo is...
beach
...swipe it from me just a few minutes later.
beach
Check out that pristine white sand beach! Pretty sweet, eh? A lot of people I know scoff at the thought of New York City beaches, but those people are idiots! How sweet is it that I can hope on the subway, and for $2 be at a place that looks like this in 30 minutes?
beach
Fatty taking a picture of me taking a picture of him.
beach
What's better than a day at the beach?
beach
Squinty Fatty and Meredith.
beach
Check out Grant's face. I think I surprised him by busting out my cam all quick and managed to catch him in the always-awkward mid-flex.
beach
Let's hear it for beach hair.
beach
..."Oh, here's the beach."
beach
Then we hit the beach.
beach
Pasty guy on the beach! Pasty guy on the beach!
beach
We took a swim, and about, ooooh, about eight minutes after our heads hit the sand...
beach
...we did also manage to score some suh-weet bracelet and/or anklets.
beach
...but two! But, that's ok - by this point Meredith and I had decided to roll with the punches and actually got to meet and hang out with a bunch of locals which isn't usually the case you travel. Besides...
beach
Exhausted from trouncing Meredith at Scrabble (yet again! 3-0, baby!) I hit the towel for a nizzap.
beach
Thursday morning we got up, hit the beach and watched the cruise ships come in.
beach
...not just one visitor trying to sell us stuff and/or take us on a tour...
beach
Squinty!
beach
Pretty!
beach
Back at the hotel, we hit the beach to read and play Scrabble.
beach
Tuesday morning we woke up and headed to the airport to catch our flight back to NYC...but not before we pulled over for a little "beach one more time" detour en route.
beach
...he tossed me off under the covers. (They also give you packs of mayo that make for sweet under the blanket handjob action). Jake kept telling me that the trip wasn't exactly free.
beach
Sunset. (Despite all the sunsets I watched out there, I never once got to see the "green flash" that apparently sometimes happens on the west coast.)
beach
Turns out it looked like THIS!
beach
I took this picture of me because Leigh was laughing at my hair and I wanted to see what it looked like.
beach
...to sit down on a log and watch the sun set.
beach
We got there just in time...
beach
Hahahaha.
beach
Yay, beach!
beach
With her last day on the west coast nearing an end, we hopped in the car and drove south to check out the beach at Half Moon Bay.
beach
On the crazy, twisty coast-hugging road back, we saw signs for some beach (Baker Beach, maybe?) and decided to head over and check it out. Maybe even take a swim!
beach
But hey, at least the view was nice.
beach
Hey, most of you being smarter than me probably already know this, but just in case any of you out there are as dumb as me, here's a little factoid for you: the Pacific Ocean is FUCKING FREEZING! WTF?? You can't swim in there! Here's a picture of Meredith getting the soles of her feet wet moments before screaming and running back to dry land. Damn. That shit was so hold it felt hot! Like and ocean of lava. Fack!
beach
Liz and squinty me. (It was so bright outside I could hardly open my eyes with out sneezing and tears pouring down my face).
beach
See those two guys carrying the raft in the background? They kept climbing into the raft together, paddling out a few feet into the water, then getting absolutely hammered by giant waves. They'd wash up on the shore, coughing and sputtering, laugh like fucking loons, then paddle back out and do it again. Beavis and Butthead are alive and well in Jersey, baby. If only my batteries hadn't died.
beach
On Monday (the day after my birthday) I went down to meet up with my parents and their little shorehouse near Long Beach Island in southern NJ. Here's my mom, brother, dad and Uncle Bruce chilling on the beach at LBI.
beach
...pack it up and head home.
beach
No one around.
beach
Me, doggy-shaking my hair dry.
beach
She don't look sick to me.
beach
Jones Beach rules. And it's practically empty on weekdays.
beach
When the boardwalk got too crowded, we retreated to the beach. Some guy that I think was a friend of Greg's, Sarah, Catrinel, and Greg (of the now defunct GregtheBoyfriend. Sniffle). The best thing about Coney Island (other than the Cyclone) is that there are these magical Puerto Ricans that roam the beach with ice cold sacks of beer. If you can manage to flag one down over the din, they'll sell you frosty beers for like $2 a piece! Some of you that were on the boardwalk might've heard Sarah screaming "Dos cervezas, por favor!" Actually, some of you in Manhattan might've heard her. Girl's got lungs.
beach
After a few beers, Karen made the mistake of turning to Dave and saying "You know, I think you're the only one of Brian's friends whose balls haven't been placed in uncomfortably close proximity to my face for a photo." (For any of you newcomers see here) and here
beach
Squinty David and Winky Miye.
beach
Yay, pride!
beach
Grant caressing the bellychain.
beach
In a crazy-ass coincidence, later that afternoon Colin and Heather showed up! They parked their set up a good 25 yards from us (so they could cannoodle in peace).
beach
After an hour in the sun, some of the (many) treats we'd purchased on the car ride out, especially the chocolately ones, had gotten gooey. Rather than having to squirt it out of the wrapper like toothpaste, Grant decided to chill that motherfucker out in the ocean to return it to a more solid state. (Mmmmmmm....delicious Fastbreak).
beach
David getting some sweet back-walking action.
beach
...of her sweet, brown bum.
beach
Miye took a picture of me taking a picture of her. And then I took a picture...
beach
David and Miye on the other hand, actually brought a jar of coconut cooking oil and slathered themselves up in it.
beach
As their bodies heated up in the sun, I couldn't stop thinking about how badly I wanted a piña colada.
beach
Meredith, being of the fair-skinned persuation, lotioned up with full-on sunblock (including a little dollop for where her hair parts so that her scalp wouldn't burn).
beach
Meredith, David, Grant, Rachel and Miye.
beach
June 27th is Gay Pride Day! David borrowed Miye's beach hat to show a little solidarity.
beach
Once we hit the beach, it was portrait time!
beach
Rachel eating a sandwich. Grant, I know you really liked her, but a belly chain to the beach? C'mon, now!
beach
Voila! From Manhattan to the beach in less than thirty minutes.
beach
Meredith showing off her rainbow keyster
beach
Standing in the shadow of a palm. So beachy. So artsy.

We got into town, parked the car and walked over to the closed club. Minutes later, true to her word, Tymber showed up right on time. We all headed back to the car, and decided, despite the threatening clouds, to head to the beach and take a swim. I dropped Tymber and Grant off at the beach across the street from our resort and went to park the car. By the time I made it back to the beach, it had began raining and I showed up just in time to catch...
