This was one of my favorites. (Vilho Lampi - Nocturne 1930)Love the light in this one. After lunch, I walked over to the Helsinki Art Museum.Lots of paintings I liked by painters I'd never seen!...we hit the Guggenheim to see some art. They also had a bunch of paintings done by Lama Gyurme, a Buddhist artist who immigrated to Sante Fe from Tibet!Walking the dead back to the cementerio after the party is over. See you next year! ...and you see a caricature of the artist! This form of graphical projection is called Anamorphosis.I also really liked this painting At first glance it looks like some kind of mosquito-like insect, but then you notice the metal cylinder...Close Close.Reflection on the glasses? Cmon!Even when you're standing RIGHT IN FRONT OF IT, it still looks like a photo and it's HUGE.Chuck Close's stuff needs to be seen in person. Vin & Pollock. #NYFWANALOG PIRACY!The Glorification of the Royal Hungarian Saints.Biss, I'm trying to feather this letter.Annoyed close up.I love the cracked-paint patterns that are revealed when you view an old painting from an angle. And this.Loved this. And this.Lots of really interesting paintings like this.I liked the "sans ladder" version much more. This?Mustache and a dress. No big deal. Not so much. This painting looked a lot like Pacung.
