a person in 3,900 photos meredith Later that evening, Meredith and I decided to walk east along the beach and visit the Pura Pulaki, the nearby Hindi temple famous for being overrun.. So, you know, don't take all this all that seriously. Later that afternoon, we went to check out Matahari's "tea garden." Mer lying next to.... More juices! Practically everything inside was made out of beautiful hand-carved wood. After eating, we hopped back into our rental car and drove for like 3 minutes. Nothing beats fresh pineapple juice in the morning. After our swim, we decided to try out the little shaded beds next to the pool. ...and rinsed off in our little pool surrounded by plants and flowers. Volcano spotting. Mer doesn't like scuba diving (she has trouble equalizing the pressure in her ears) but she was excited to snorkel around the reef while we were diving. Haha. Our plan was to stay at the Mati Hari Resort, which was highly recommended in our guide book. The Mati Hari was booked, so we ended up getting an ocean front bungalow at Amertha Bali Villas , the second most-highly recommended place. It didn't disappoint. Came back to the room to find yet another delicious surprise! This time it was a tiny chocolate cake covered in chocolate! When we got back to our hotel later in the afternoon, we found another basket of weird local fruits! We had a nice lunch up on our balcony. After breakfast, we relaxed in lounge chairs on the beach... ...then at 9am, we went to check out the hotel's insane breakfast spread. Peekor! See the peaked roof behind Meredith? That's the roof over our room's balcony! The next morning we woke up before 5am and went downstairs to swim in the hotel's gorgeous edgeless pool that's right down near the beach. (Meredith's in the pool, but you can see the ocean right behind her). I had brought along my camera's scuba case and snapped some underwater pics in the pool. Mer looking serene underwater. They brought us freshly-squeezed tropical juice smoothies while we waited to be registered. The local time was 3:30 in the afternoon. Mer was feeling lunchtimey and got some lo mein. Hey hey, are you ready for a... Mike took this great photo of us with some of the Cathay Pacific flight attendants, then we said goodbye and headed to the gate. Thanks so much for coming out to see us off, Mike! After much wandering around (SFO international is HUGE) we finally met up with Mike and he became the very first of our friends to see us as a MARRIED COUPLE! We got some food to go along with our champagne. Mer got veggie sushi... Delicious! Official start of the honeymoon! Amazing. Thanks again for coming all the way across the country to see us get married, guys! One last photo of us in our nice clothes before heading back to the hotel to change. Thumbs up showing off our new rings! ...make a thumbprint, and YOU'RE OFFICIALLY MARRIED! I love this photo so much. Sign on the dotted-line, then... Huzzah! After we were done taking pictures, we headed back up to the parking lot to finalize the paperwork for our certificate of marriage! Thanks for marrying me! Showing off the rings! Smooch. With the other Mr. & Mrs Battjer! With the Silvermans! The wedding party! There's a new Mrs. Battjer! Feeling like the luckiest guy in the whole world. Meredith with her parents. When we pulled into the parking lot of the state park, Christa, the Justice of the Peace that we'd hired to officiate our wedding was there to meet us! We asked her to take us to the prettiest place on Lake Tahoe and it was Christa who suggested Hellman-Ehrman Mansion ! Excited! My mom was so excited to have another daughter-in-law. We just kept passing cameras around. Right at 1pm, my dad brought the car around... We didn't hire a wedding photographer! Babe-o-rama. Meredith showed me that she had tucked tissues into her dress "Not because I'm stuffing my boobs, but because I'm definitely going to cry." Haha. HOLY MOLY. After a dose of cold medicine and a hot shower, I felt much better. Getting ready to GET MARRIED!!! Mer came home and woke up a little after 10pm. I'd gotten another eight hours of sleep since our trip to the doctor and my fever was finally breaking. Mer and her mom. Meredith waiting for the doctor with me. Getting married the day after tomorrow! Me and the bride-to-be. In other words, it was perfect. We unpacked our stuff and decided to catch some pool time before the sun went down. It was almost like being inside a camper, only bigger. That's where we're getting married! Taco-tastic. Meredith and her parents during our layover. Excited. 4:30am. Taking the elevator downstairs to head to the airport...TO GET MARRIED! T-minus 1-day before leaving to get married! We spent our last day in New York running all sorts of last minute errands for our trip. We cleaned the rat cage and made sure they had lots of fresh bedding. Walking home! Thanks for coming into town to visit guys! We had a great time. Joining the married club shortly! So we ended up heading back down town to the Sly Fox where we secured one of the big booths in the back! We ran into Candy at karaoke! We didn't end up staying all that much longer because the place didn't really have a sound system, er, or a place to really even sing karaoke. ...Erika and Scott took the train in from NJ to visit! Amanda came over and met up with us and we all headed out in the drizzling rain... You're getting married to THIS GUY! Meredith went out to walk Maddy and I went to get the laundry. Whenever we get split up and then reunited, Maddy FREAKS out. YOU'RE HERE! On Friday we got ready to run more errands. (T-minus 2 days until we leave to get married!) Waiting for Falafel. All dressed up. There was a street cart RIGHT next to our building. How can you not get a falafel? Yup. Double fist hoist. We went to B-east. Haha. The girls got gussied up to go dancing. Holy crap, I'm marrying a babe. Our neighbor Mama Zandi gave us a case of wine as a wedding present! T-minus 3-days until our wedding! Check out that, uh, tan! Meredith doesn't like to wear suntan lotion (and I nag her like a grandma about it). Thanks for inviting us! After the show we hopped into a cab and headed over to... They were floor seats! Greg, Ilirjana, Leigh and Mer showing off their tickets. Haha. Never in my life did I think I'd be holding a Britney Spears concert ticket. A little before 7, Leigh and Gregg came by and picked us up in their cab. If you are enjoying a snack... Thai feast for lunch! Dogs couch-battling and honking at each other. We dog-napped Edie!
