By the afternoon, we were ready to leave the house behind and explore the surroundings. Very cool little community! It was like being in the Canadian version of the Mississippi delta bayou! While we were walking around, a few residents came out to chat with us. ...and found ourselves in the midst of Finn Slough, a community of thirty houses, floating houses, house boats and stilt-houses right on ,or in some cases, IN the river. ...attend an awesome 4th of July BBQ at Scott & Erika's new house! View of the house from the pond. After the evening settled in a bit, it was time to walk up to the house to enjoy watching... ...and were greeted with only an empty lot! Our old house was completely destroyed! ...we stopped at a house on the side of the road that our driver knew and we were invited inside...
