Thursday was Meredith, Ellen and my third, consecutive day cooped-up in an 8' x 10' room with 3 dogs in Meredith's parent's apartment, after being displaced by Hurricane Sandy! Meredith is laughing because I don't like to eat pumpkin or squash and so now that we'd split up she was reading-up on pumpkin & squash recipes. Hahahah. So good
Airport book #2! The story's narrative is based around the author's recollection of his past lives. An interesting read, but not exactly my jim-jam. Aleph
Fantastic veggie bahn mi and a weird e-book someone recommended to me that I found interesting. As someone who's always had difficulty "imagining the future," I found this book's suggestion to re-framing that as "remembering future memories" very freeing and lovely.
...this! The second Murakami book I read. I didn't like this as much as I liked The Windup Bird Chronicles, but I still really enjoyed it. A Wild Sheep Chase
...and started reading this one. The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle: A Novel. I loved this book. It was the first of Murakami's books I read. Really haunted me and stuck with me. Not a fast or linear read, but I can't recommend it highly enough!
...on the way home I picked up some travel books. Meredith's friends Aileen & Ryan had invited to attend their wedding in the Philippines and we'd just booked our tickets.
