showing 2010 only · show all yearsLow tide.Around 1pm, we walked back across the peninsula to the estuary to catch a boat ride back to our car.We took a boat across the estuary......carried it past an oil refinery to the water's edge (where we learned both a man and his dog had recently been eaten by a croc). Always nice to see something you don't see every day. Her snout was covered in fish gore and she was grunting with delight. They were cleaning the fish they'd caught....by the fishermen who'd recently come ashore.Ocean kayak.Better than sitting in the car.Driving onto a boat is always a novelty.Bad ass.Before heading back into New York, we decided to take the car ferry over to Shelter Island.After we ate, we walked down towards the water.So many boats stashed everywhere.After we'd finished marveling at all the cool houseboats on the waterfront...So many interesting things to see on the waterfront.Little Toot off in the yard behind the barn!
