My brother and his family were down in Florida visiting my parents... Just in time to catch these rugrats before dinner and bedtime. ....came over for dinner. He wanted to try on the shirt and he wanted... ...and took the subway out to Brooklyn. ...to the Subway Museum! ...to my apartment in the East Village! After all the presents were opened... ...and Shannon and Melissa. Got Max ready for bed in his Christmas Jammies. The inaugural ride! My parents had rented family beach house in LBI! Three drunk Battjers. Later that evening, we got dressed up and headed to the wedding! Brett, Amy & Max! Every night after Max goes to bed, Teddy all but leaps into Amy's arms. My turn for attention! That evening, our parents watched Max and Brett & Amy went out for a much needed kid-free meal. Brett played some guitar. Later that afternoon, I took Brett to a music store and bought him a guitar for Christmas! He'd been wanting to learn for a while. Learning that first Amaj chord! I was trying to make it down to Asheville, NC to meet up with Quinn and some friends before it got too late, so I packed up and said farewell around 5:30. Spent the afternoon hanging out in the backyard. Parents of the birthday boy! Happy August 2015! Rolling. Facetiming with my parents in Florida. Kristy's Diner for dinner. Bathtime. Parenting. ...and we had a nice summer dinner on the back porch! Brett & Amy getting ready to submit an offer for a house they really wanted (and ended up getting). Submitted! Here we go! Bedtime! Grabbed some coffee on the corner nice and early... Back out for an afternoon lap! ...over here now. Fun watching my parents be grandparents! All over the beach... Bealls & Battjers! Pee break! Total naturals! ...like this excellent three-piece deluxe set of screen-cleaners! SCORE! Brett and Amy's apartment was full with all sorts of new baby gear, so they'd asked for no presents, but my mom still insisted on getting Brett "a little something"... Taking the hounds for a walk through suburbia. This bouquet of flowers is hiding exciting news... ...t-minus eight-weeks until my nephew Max shows up! On September 1st, I was down in south Jersey hanging out with my family. Happy August 2013! ...to visit with Bretty, Amy and my parents! ...to celebrate Amy's birthday and to play everyone's favorite bar-game: Guess Who's Five Months Pregnant! Later that night, we hit the Sonic drive-in for some tots and ice cream... Family beach picture. Grandma came down on Saturday to BBQ and hang with the family. I didn't have any clients over the holidays, so I spent some time working on this site! Afternoon work session. I don't know if you noticed Amy's... Later that evening, Amy's sister Emily joined us from Brooklyn and we got our Thai feast on. I love my mom smiling in the background here. Brett and Amy getting ready to check out the loot in their stockings. Haha. After dinner, I set up my laptop so Brett & mom could try out the Neurosky headset. ...on The Art of Video Games ! Brett & Amy preparing our bed! Lunch on the back porch with the fam. Amy's sister Emily joined us and we ordered us a BREAKFAST FEAST! Check out the spread! Near the road it was piled up waist deep! ...then began the cooperative drum-set assembly process. Let's hear it for teamwork! (We ended up playing A LOT of Rock Band that night). Back at the apartment, we dragged out all the gear so that we could play the new game (Rock Band 3 ) that Brett had just given me! It turns my drum set was broken... After getting parked and unpacked, we ordered pickup from Wacky Wok (which Brett paid for with $40 he found sitting in the ATM cash tray at the restaurant! Score!) Post Christmas breakfast! The weather forecast was calling for heavy snow and by the time we'd finished eating... Pre-dinner holiday photo for my dad's holiday newsletter! Amy and Brett. ...we headed in to our table! Thanks for having us all down. We had an amazing time! ...headed back to the bar for the big dance party that was going on. Brett and Amy opted for the "simultaneous-cake-feed" method which drastically reduces the chance that only one person will get cake smashed into their face. It's both or none.
