Cake Party Part Four

Way back in November of 2001, Grant and I were male strippers for a party group called Cake (for an article he was writing). Through that, we became friends with Emily and Melinda, the co-founders of Cake, and have since been graciously put on the list for some of their out of hand parties. grant — First off, I'd like to record in this diary that due to our certifiably-insane driver on the cab ride over, we almost didn't make it to the party alive. Here's Grant holding on for dear life as the driver executes one of his many fast-corner, tire-chirping turns.

Momentarily safe whilst stopped at a traffic light, Grant captured this picture of me reflecting upon the "nugget of fear" I'd just involuntarily deposited in my shorts.

grant, laure, louise — We met up with Louise and Laure (aka - the French girls) out front of the club and got in line. Before they'd even let us into the place, they made Grant and I take off our shirts. We were warned that we'd be permanently removed from the party if we put them back on.

While slightly tamer than previous Cake events that we'd attended...

...there were still plenty of bare bums getting smacked.

crazy jen, grant — We also ran into Troublemaker Jen who has twice been the cause of, yep, you guessed it, trouble. (Wait a minute...what's that playing up there on the ginormous big-screen TV...First with the "Visible Nipple Incident" of 2002 and later as a key player in "The Greatest Story I'm Not Allowed to Tell You About" of earlier this year).

crazy jen, grant, me — Opting to avoid any drama, Grant and I quickly said hi and then we ran away.

grant, me — Wait a minute...what's that playing up there on the ginormous big-screen TV...

me, sarah h — After we'd been there for about an hour or so, Nerve intern Sarah Harrison turned up to join the festivities.

grant, sarah h — And Grant quickly managed to get her to "loosen up" and remove her skirt.

grant, sarah h — At first pensive, it was only a matter of moments before...

emily sk — Emily and now infamous Cake dancer (seriously, this girl's been at every Cake party I've ever been to) Erin Lee.

louise — From across the room I was like, "Look at at topless chick dancing! She's got the sweetest two....Ugh! Wait a minute! That chick's got a beard! It's a dude and those are MANBOOBS not girl boobs!" Hahahah. (Hey, in my defense a)It was dark in there and b)He does have pretty sweet boobs.)

grant, louise — After hanging out with Louise three other times (all of which ended with her not getting kissed and asking me in her heavily-accented English "What eeez eee, a, how you say, faggot?") Grant finally got enough courage (read: alcohol in him) to plant a big one on her. Nicely done!

grant, louise — Oooo-la-la, Sassoon!

laure, me, sarah h — After our French guests had tired of the novelty of sweaty, topless men, we packed up the crew and headed over to Plaid to check out a party that the Fugees were supposedly throwing.

grant, laure, louise, sarah h — Laure, Sarah, Grant and Louise.

grant, laure, louise, sarah h — While we didn't see any Fugees at Plaid, we did manage to find a dance party in full effect.
