the december roundup: part two
Here are all the pics from the second half of December 2007 (almost 2 years from the time I'm writing this! Eeep!) that didn't make it into their own entry!
Saturday, December 15th
On Saturday night I took the subway out to Park Slope to attend Frank and Liz's annual holiday party! Here's Seth and Frank tearing it up in the living room.
Fatty and me on the couch.
Liz's friend crazy Jen was there again! I only get to see her once a year and it's always at Liz & Frank's Christmas party!
Oh, did I mention she was ha-ha-hammered? Check out that yob! She looks like a pirate yelling for more mead! Hahaha.
I love this photo of Frank. I'm not 100% sure, but I think this cake was for Lydia's birthday.
Surprise!
Seth on the horn while Fatty slapp-uh-da-baaaasss.
If Fatty's holding a bass, and he notices that you're a holding a camera in your hands, the forecast says there's a...
...one hundred-percent chance of an 80s Rock Face being pulled.
Marina, Amanda and me.
Ok, back to photos of wasted Jen partying it up! Hahaha.
Here Jen, why don't you stand right here for a minute...
...BRAINED! Hahaha. I think I've managed to brain Jen every year at this party.
Farewell, sweet princess! Happy Holidays to all!
Tuesday, December 18th
On Tuesday night, Meredith and I met up with her parents for dinner and to exchange presents!
Check shows off his Grill Slinger tool belt! Hahaha.
JoAnn shows off the birdseed (and birdfeeder) that Meredith picked out.
Meredith got real excited about extra RAM for her laptop...
...and an extended-life battery! Yes, this is what my girl asked for for the holidays. Hahah.
And here's my reaction to opening a card and finding a slip for a pre-ordered Amazon Kindle from Mer's parents. Holy moly, awesome gift! Thanks so much!
Thursday, December 20th
On Thursday morning I woke up feeling awful.
Yep, fever.
Check out my homeless hair! I had a cold that somehow turned into bronchitis. I spent the next 4 days totally bedridden.
Monday, December 24th
Four days later, I finally was feeling well enough to get out of bed. Meredith and I were supposed to go out to New Jersey for Christmas Eve, but I was still feeling pretty awful so we decided to stay in NYC.
This is the hydrocodone cough syrup that my doctor prescribed to me for my terrible bronchial cough. Meredith also ended up getting sick and was having trouble sleeping, so she decided to take some of my medicine because she knew the codeine in it would knock her out. Except, instead of reading the label and taking the recommended one teaspoon dosage, she filled up a Nyquil dosage cup and took that!
Her overdose may also help explain why she rented Tequila Sunrise when she went to Blockbuster for movies. Hahah.
Tuesday, December 25th
Tuesday was PRESENT DAY (our atheists version of Christmas & Hanukkah) in our apartment. Meredith and I both pretty much buy what few things we want all the time. So Present Day is about fun little gifts you think the other person will love but might not have gotten on their own. Meredith went first and opened up some...
...creepy soap molds I found online! Now she can make rat soaps and brain soaps!
I went next and got...
...Mario Kart and...
...Mortal Kombat for the DS.
Meredith went next and got this ugly-ass stuffed animal that she had on her Amazon wishlist (???) AND...
What will it be? What will it be?
WONDER WOMAN sexy-time pajamas! Which is basically lingerie for NERDS! Hahahaha.
Meredith's gift to me was...
...CatchPhrase! (Part of our constant attempts to find a new fun game to replace Cranium now that we're all pretty much burnt out on it).
And lastly, the big mystery box...
...ROCKBAND!
When my brother was in town, we went to the store and he bought it the day it came out! So it was something we knew we both wanted. Score!
Unpacking the box!
Guitar assemblage.
After a couple hours of playing Rockband, we decided to continue to our refusal to acknowledge conventional adulthood by making giant blueberry pancakes for lunch.
Meredith didn't even bother to use utensils! Woooooo!
But we more than made up for our youthful indiscretions with a mature and sensible dinner!
Merry Present Day from two apartment-quarantined sickos!
Friday, December 28th
Even a couple days later I was still recovering from my couch. Most of my days were spent in bed reading and intermittently getting awesomely high as fuck on prescription cough medicine! Woooooo!
When I was feeling well enough to be out of bed, I made sure to put in some quality time with the vermin. They're actually kind of cute, right?
Like it's pretty adorable how when you come over to the cage they all rush over and smash themselves against the bars so that they can say hi (ok, and for the off chance that you might be holding a delicious treat).
CAN HAZ TREETZ? (Check out the one down at the bottom trying to get the treat-jump on everyone else by mashing her snout through the bars!)
The only other thing of note that happened was Meredith and I took a cab back from somewhere and our cab driver's name was Diallo Amadou! (Any chance any Fulbe people read this? Is that a really common name or is this pretty rare?)
Saturday, December 29th
On Saturday, Meredith continued on her journey into CRAFTLAND! Back then she was doing a column for Pop Serious called She's Crafty and whenever I'd download the photos from my camera, there'd always be a bunch of pics of crafts on there.
She also started getting seriously busy with a Bedazzler. Bedazzled shoes AND socks.
Dedazzled Jeans.
Bedazzled bra strap!
Even some Bedazzled thongs! Sisqo approves! (In Meredith's defense, I think the Bedazzled panties were for the column as I never saw her wear them. Unless of course, she Bedazzled them to prance around in for someone other than me!)
Monday, December 31st
By the last day of December I was finally feeling better. Spent most of the day learning to play Rockband drums and getting ready for a chill NYE party at Siege and KT's
