A little before ten, Meredith and I headed to the L train.
We got off at the Bedford stop and walked a couple blocks through Williamsburg...
...and arrived at Siege & KT's low-key, no pressure New Year's Eve party. Here's KT showing Cat the "proper" way to uncork a bottle of champagne.
"NOW YOU TRY."
Anytime Meredith knows she'll be expected to stay up past midnight she drinks at least two of these in preparation.
Awww, it's like the Five-Year Wesleyan reunion all over again!
Before we knew it, it was midnight!
Champagne was uncorked! (By hand, much to my disappointment)
Kissing happened!
Girl-on-girl kissing happened!
Which, as always, caused Siege made his awesome "Hmmmm, what's going on over here" frisky grandpa face!
After all the kissing and drinking was finished, we all settled down to eat some snacks.
Snacks!
After we'd pretty much decimated all of the food there was nothing left to do except...
...try out Catch Phrase, the new game that Meredith got me for Christmas in hopes that we'd find something new to replace Cranium.
It's pretty fun. Here's a breakdown of how it works from the game's very own Wikipedia entry:
"The goal for each player is to get their team to say the word or word phrase displayed in the disc. One member of a team starts the timer and tries to get his or her team to guess the displayed word or phrase. A clue-giver can make any physical gesture and give almost any verbal clue, but may not say a word that rhymes with any of the words, give the first letter of a word, say the number of syllables, or say part of any word in the clue (e.g., "worry" for "worry wart"). When the team guesses correctly, the other team takes its turn. Play continues until the timer runs out. The team not holding the disc when time runs out scores a point. They also have one chance to guess the word or phrase, with team members allowed to confer; a correct answer earns a bonus point. The first team to score seven points wins."
Hahaha.
Definitely not as much fun as Cranium, but still pretty good.
After a couple of rounds of Catch Phrase...
...Cat did some handstands.
Then more eating.
This little one could hardly keep her eyes open, so we decided to call it a night around 3am.
Check out this awesome Polaroid that Cynthia took of us! It's on our apartment door. Happy 2007!
