the very last misshapes
I was at the the very first MisShapes back in February of 2004. Three and a half years later I found myself heading over to Don Hill's to attend the last weekly MisShapes party. It was the end of an era that left all of us wondering "Well, now what are we going to do on Saturday nights?"
I rode my bike over a little after midnight. The line to get in was totally out of control! It went from the door, to the corner of the block...
...and then all the way around the building to the next block! PS. - You know it's a line for MisShapes when you take a photo of the crowd...
...and people pose for the second photo! Girl with the blue scarf striking a "sassy" pose, I'm talking to you!
Thomas was taxed with deciding which of the hundreds of people waiting outside could come in and which would be DENIED! Needless to say, he was looking a little overwhelmed at his post. Ha!
After I got inside, it took me link twenty minutes to make my way across the room through the crowd to the bar where I found this little one!
After getting drinks, we went to the DJ booth - the only place in the whole bar where you could drink your drink without someone else rubbing their sweaty, bare arms all over you!
See how packed the place was?
Total funsanity.
Sarah and Sean.
Leigh and Nick.
Me and Ryan.
We went downstairs to see what was going on down in the basement and found Jackson in the middle of a photo shoot where he was....uh...pretending to be a cheerleader?
Scott was hiding out in the white "photo room" and...uh....eating Mickey Mouse-shaped ice cream?
Sarah and Jenny.
Leigh tried running away from Jonny Makeup and his friends....
...but they always get their man in the end!
Sorry, all you guys out there. If you want to lay your hands on Leigh, you're going to have to get yourself a baggy, splatter-paint-patterned ONSIE. It's the only thing that gets her all hot and bothered.
Well, that and man-vests.
Here's me giving a kiss to the guest DJ of the very first MisShapes.
Me and Thomas! Thanks for letting me in all those years even though I don't dress very cool and wear of the same three blue shirts every week!
Thanks for not making me dye my hair black, Geordon!
Thanks for being a good one, Good One! Goodbye, Saturday Night MisShapes!
