father's day down at the shore

After years of Meredith and I dating, our parents finally convinced us that it was time for them to meet. (Something that we'd both been putting off for a looooong time). I took the train down to the shore house on Saturday, and Meredith and her parents drove down from NYC on Sunday so that we could all spend Father's Day together!

The Silvermans were worried about getting stuck in Sunday Night Jersey Shore traffic, so after we got back from the boat ride, they decided to pack it up and drive home. I decided to take Monday off from work and hang out with my family at the shore another day. Brett and Amy. ˆ amy b ˆ brett ˆ

Later that night we went to the local movie theater to catch a movie! And after the movie, we spent a little time in the theater's arcade so that I could school, not just one, but BOTH of my parents at air hockey! Here's an action shot of my mom doing her best to defeat me (while I use my free hand to take a photo of her WHILE PLAYING). BOO-YAH! (How is it this possible that I'm still this competitive when playing against my own, soon-to-be-sixty-years-old mother? What's wrong with me? Hahaha) ˆ mom ˆ air hockey ˆ

On Monday we ate lightly all day so that we'd be extra hungry for dinner at MING DYNASTY BUFFET! YEEEEEEEEES! ˆ ming dynasty ˆ

OMG, when you see a sign like this on the entrance to a buffet restaurant, you know the place is like fatty-heaven. (And by fatties I mean actual gluttons, not capital F Fatty as in "The" Fatty. Although, now that I think about it, he'd probably really love this place too). ˆ ming dynasty ˆ sign ˆ

Miles and miles of steam tables filled with every delicacy known to man! (Cue harps and angels singing). ˆ buffet ˆ food ˆ ming dynasty ˆ

I talk a big game, but I'm a total lightweight when it comes to eating in bulk (I has a tiny stomach!). But I still love buffets because I get to eat all sorts of weird combos of food that you can't really get at "normal" restaurants. ˆ food ˆ

Oh, did I mention that Ming Dynasty has an entire wing of the restaurant devoted to the dessert buffet section? ˆ buffet ˆ dessert ˆ ming dynasty ˆ

Seriously, is it wrong that despite living in NYC, the city in the US with the most restaurants, and my favorite restaurant is a place in South Jersey called Ming Dynasty Buffet? ˆ buffet ˆ dessert ˆ ming dynasty ˆ

My train ride back home was uneventful. But I decided to catch a cab from Penn Station cross-town and my drivers name was Harriram Supersad! Awwww! Cheer up buddy! ˆ taxi ˆ
